First H-I-O For $caletti

Mr. Budweiser...aka...Jeff $caletti had his very first Hole-In-One on Monday (Presidents Day) February 20th. He aced the 126 yard, 8th hole with a 9-iron. The group $100 dollar H-I-O rule was in effect and rumor has it, it was a pretty good  payday! Congratulations Jeff and way to get in your playing partners pockets!

Glenn Taylor Shoots Better Than His Age

Glenn Taylor, who is 80, shot 79 on Tuesday, Feb. 21. He did it with a birdie on 18. Congratulations Glenn!

BTW: A couple of days later, Glenn went back out and shot his age: 80. Just trying to whittle down that handicap, eh Glenn?

Ryno, Braga, DeBernardo and Geisick Win Flights in February Tourney

Frank DeBernardo shot a blistering net 64 to become top qualifier for the NCGA Zone tournament, joined by Glenn Taylor (67), Brad Ryno (68) and Shanne Carvalho (68), who posted the best net scores and had handicaps low enough to qualify for NCGA tournament play.

 

Ryno won the first flight, followed by Steve Rodrigues, Jerry Woods, Michael Wade, Bill Hlaward and Phil Trounstine.

 

Danny Braga won the second flight, with a net 71, followed by Joe Claridge, John Reisdorf, Gerry Catalano, David Webb and Pete Pappas.

 

DeBernardo, Taylor and Carvalho were the top finishers in the third flight, followed by Rodd Doerr, Jorgen Hagglof and Tim Carl.


In the fourth flight, Ray Geisick took top honors with 68, followed by Breese White, John MacDonald, Mike Howley, Don Bonnel and Jim Morris. Because of the NCGA's maximum handicap requirements, players in the fourth flight were not eligible for the zone tournament.

Closest to the pin honors on #8 went to Bill Halward,  Barry Baker and Mike Beebe. On #12 the winners were Danny Braga (1 foot!) Jim Geesman and Dave Schulz.

ASMC March 21st Tournament

The next ASMC tournament will be the "ABCD Blind Draw Shamble" -- a four-man team event in which the two best net scores on each hole will count, scheduled for March 21.

The field of sign-ups will be listed by course handicap and divided by four to create A, B, C and D groups. Each team will include one player from each handicap group, chosen by blind draw. Everyone will play at 90% of their handicap.

Each player will hit a drive on each hole and the team will pick which drive to play from and then all players will play their own ball from there though the hole. Teams must use at least three drives from each player over the course of the 18 holes. The two best net scores on each hole will determine the team's score. Prizes will also we awarded for closest to the hole on #8 and #12.

McNary, Ryan; DeBernardo, Thrasher; Howley, Gadsby Win January 4-Ball Tourney

Tom McNary and Matt Ryan won the first flight in the January two-man best-ball tournament with a cool net 60, also qualifying to represent Seascape in the NCGA Net Four-Ball Tournament. Frank DeBernardo and Kent Thrasher, also carding 60, won the second flight and a spot in the NCGA tournament.  Third Flight winners were Mike Howley and Bob Gadsby, who also turned in a net 60. Other first flight top finishers were John Peterson and Sean Jiggins, 61;Billy Klinkefus and Jeff Collins, 62; and Jim Boulware and Jay Kartafa, 62. Other second flight top finishers were Bob Norton and Joe Claridge, 63;Shanne Carvalho and Joe Guttadauro, 64; and Bob Fennel and John MacDonald, 64. Teams placing in the third flight were Ben DeMarco and Steve Olson, 64; Charlie May and Frank Cavallero, 65; and Jeff Stanga and Frank Antuavich, 66. Phil Trounstine won closest to the pin on No. 8 and Dave Frock -- whose shot stopped 1/2-inch from the cup --won on No. 12. Peterson and Jiggins will be the first alternate team for the NCGA tournament and Klinkefus and Collins will be the second alternate team.

Reyes Has His First Hole in One

ASMC member Gabe Reyes had his first H-I-O on Sunday 11-11-2011 on #8 with a pitching wedge.

Holiday Mixer a Big Success

The ASMC 2011 Holiday Mixer on Dec. 14 drew 36 co-ed teams, with Bob McCormick and Kathy Moler winning the first flight with a net 62 and Ray Apolskis and Kikue Wakamiya winning the second flight with a sizzling net 59.

Other winners in the first flight were Cindy and Barry Baker, 66; Billy Klinkefus and Robin Gaither, 66; Jim Geesman and Kim Belliveau, 67; Brad Ryno and Ginger Ramsey, 67; and Brenda and John Holquin, 68.

Other second flight winners were Monika and Art Cooke, 67; Lani and Bob Gadsby, 67; Deb and Ed Arredonda, 67; Beverly and Ed Dueck, 69; and Mary Ann and Sam Johnson, 71.
