Jeff DeRoza Wins Club Championship and Player of the Year

Jeff DeRoza is the Aptos Seascape Golf Club’s 2011 Club Champion, after a hard-fought 37-hole match against former club champ Travis Stephens.

Bar manager at Severinos’s, Jeff, 29, is a graduate of Aptos High School and was in the class of 2006 at California State University Monterey Bay where he studied communications and journalism.

Mike Oliver won the Director’s Flight 1 up over Kurt Stephens. Brad Ryno won the First Flight over Bruce Driggs after 19 holes. Craig Matthews defeated Danny Braga 1 up to win the Second Flight. Bill Campbell beat Jorgen Hagglof 3-1 to win the Third Flight. Rich Wameling took Don Bonnel 2-1 to win top honors in the Fourth Flight. Jack Marshall beat Dick Staniford 1 up to take the Senior Flight.

In addition to winning the club championship, DeRoza racked up enough points to be named Player of the Year

In other news, John Reisdorf has had TWO holes in one recently, Sept. 9 and 16! And Bill McCabe also had a hole in one.
