ASMC Spring Social

Hello Seascapers!
It is time for our ASMC Spring Seascape Social. Save the date. Friday May 6th. We will be having a putting contest on the practice green at 3:00PM followed by a 9 hole shotgun scramble at 4:00PM.
The format will test all participants. It is a best/worst ball scramble with two person teams. We will use the average handicap for the team. On the odd numbered holes we will play the best ball to the hole. On the even numbered holes we will play the worst ball to the hole.
Following golf we will be enjoying various hot and cold appetizers as well as happy hour pricing at the bar.
Prizes will be awarded for the best putters and the top three teams in the scramble.
Cost will be $25 for members (includes cart) and $50 for non-members (includes cart).
All Seagals and Women's 18 Holers are welcomed and encouraged to play.
Registration deadline is Sunday May 1st.

ASMC Helps Japan Survivors
Thanks so much to all the ASMC members who donated money to help the earthquake and tsumani victims in Japan. On very short notice we raised $410 dollars. With the men's club matching funds, we will be sending $820 to the American Red Cross.
You all should be proud!
If you missed the tournament or were unable to donate at the time, you can still offer a notation by leaving it with the pro shop. Cash or check is acceptable. Make checks out to the "American Red Cross".

Former ASMC Leader Bob Freeman Killed in Car Accident
Robert M. Freeman, 70, of Los Gatos, a former board member of ASMC and captain of the interclub team, died Sunday shortly after a 5:15 p.m. crash at the intersection of Almaden Expressway and McAbee Road in San Jose.
San Jose police said Freeman's white BMW collided with a white GMC Sierra pickup truck traveling south on Almaden Expressway.
Freeman's front seat passenger, believed by police to be his 67-year-old wife, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 10-year-old girl in the car was treated and released at the scene.
San Jose police Officer Jose Garcia said driver of the pickup was not arrested or injured. And police say they do not suspect drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
