2018 60th Anniversary Social

The 60th Anniversary Social event was a blazing success with a 9 hole tournament followed by a fabulous dinner spread! The format of the tournament was a 4-person team shamble 2 net best balls.

We would like to congratulate Bill and Kim Miller, and Greg and Jane Patrico for winning the Mixed Division (and the low score of the entire tournament!) with a 48. Coming in second was Joe and Claudia Gatto, Sean Jiggins, and Karen Estrella with a 53.

The Mens Division was won by Grant Butcher, Mark Manley, and Andy Forget with a 52. The second place team consisted of Mark Hogue, Jeff Stanga, Bill Daitchman, and Gary Bruckner with a 54. Great job!

New Rules

Amongst the many rules of golf, some rules are familiar to all. For example, we all know you have five minutes to find your ball before it is deemed lost. We also know that it is a penalty to putt from the green and hit the flag pin. And definitely, don't ground your club in a red staked area.

Yes. Well, that's all changing soon. The USGA has been busy rethinking many of the rules of golf. In many cases, the changes they've come up with are designed to make the game more fun and speed up play. In 2019 we will all be playing by these updated rules, so get the jump on the competition and find out what's going to change. You can find 36 new rules at the USGA website.
